Technical Director
I
was born in 1967 in the lovely city of Detroit, Michigan, raised in and
around southeastern Michigan. I moved a lot as a child, attending 8
different schools before I was in 8th grade. It gave me the chance to
meet lots of different people in lots of different circumstances.
After
brief dreams at making a go of playing pro hockey, I decided by the time
I was 13 that music and media would be my life. I picked up a bass
guitar and joined a band. By the time I was 15, I was out "touring" the
local bar scene as a stage hand and sound man.
By the time I was 20, I
had added both piano and guitar to my repertoire of instruments. I
continued to play music and stumble through life playing music, doing
video, worked at a television station, etc., etc. At 21, I had an
amazing
gift given to me -- my daughter, Amanda. At 23, I met my future wife,
Barb (who has saved my life on more than one occasion). At 25, I bought and
established a local recording studio and started working towards
becoming a full-time musician. In between all of this, the usuals of
life occurred. Fortunately, or Unfortunately, I screwed most of it
up. I had a couple of different "day" jobs (managed a drug store,
taught
severely mentally impaired youth and adults), and basically just kept
on
stumbling along.
At the age of 33, looking for the meaning of life, I
went with my wife to a small church in Michigan named Crossroads. I
immediately accepted Christ, immediately felt the call to ministry full
time, married my amazing wife, had my life cleaned up, and now here I am,
living proof that God is Love and has Grace and working with the
greatest people on this big blue ball, playing with all the
creative toys and people a person could want. http://petebishop.info Contact Pete |
