Stories
Pete Bishop

Twice a year at Crossroads we do True Crossroads Stories. We shoot and edit people's stories of how they are living out their relationships with God. Sunday night the crew spent the evening shooting in our "video space" that was graciously lent to us by my wife's boss.  Jason Ely is our head video  guy at Crossroads and he is pouring what he knows into two younger dudes named Zach and Scott.( who always blow me away with their creativity and skills.) The greatest thing about hanging out with the younger generation is that risk is no issue with them, they will take any chance to do something cool and a lot of times what might be perceived as a mistake by some is turned into art by them.  I love to sit back and watch these guys do their thing. Its like poetry in motion.  If your in the area on the 24th of February come by, cuz these stories...man... God is changing lives.Guys ( ps the purple on the green screen is from some kids fingerpainting the night before.. we weren't trying a new effect!)Scott_zach Zach Jay

He's so funny

Diego just makes me smile. He comes up with the funniest things, out of nowhere, and completely unexpected most of the time. A couple of Diego-isms...

I picked Diego up from school yesterday afternoon, he was uncharacteristically quiet. I could see by his expression that he was lost in thought. He kicked his shoes off and tucked his feet up underneath him. All of a sudden he says, "Mom, if I won Eric's money, I would have like ninety-nine dollars."

What? Whose money?

Come to find out, he was referring to an adult at Crossroads who serves in the Kid Fusion experience, Eric Doyle. Diego loves most of the characters that Eric plays. In fact, he can't always tell me what he's learned but he can usually tell me what crazy thing Eric did during church on any given Sunday. Must be Eric gave away some sort of 'money' on Sunday and Diego is contemplating winning it the next time the game is played.

Diego's daycare provider told me he didn't eat much lunch today... Diego's explanation for not eating is because he's, "On the patch." (He wears a patch for ADHD and uses it as an excuse for not doing a lot of things!)

Tonight we are struggling to get Diego to stay in bed. His most recent reason for coming downstairs was to show us that his blanket is electric. "Watch," he says, "When I rub it on my head and watch it closely, there's electric stuff."

Stay tuned, I am sure this child will provide a lot of comedic relief in the future.

Ch-Ch-Changes
Pete Bishop

Well one thing that is constant in a portable church environment is change. This last weekend we moved all of our Kids Environments all the across the complex we are in and into new spaces. Due to some great pre - planning involving the leaders in that area ( Chuck, Kyle,  Brian and Lee) and the help of some amazing volunteers that day ( Cindy, Marv, Matt, Jessica, Annette and Matt) we were able to make the transition pretty smoothly. I purchased a PA Rack for the new Kid Crossing K-5 and Kid Fusion Space but we are going to need to do some continued up grades in the pa system in their as its way under powered for a room that size and make up. ( We knew that going in but due to budget and time we had to make the move anyway)

So whats the point?

If your moving spaces: Plan Plan Plan... due to lots of conversations with lots of people and planning for everything that could go wrong we made the transition without nary a hiccup in the technology areasImg_0309 .Img_0310 Img_0305
